Houston’s 25 Most Beautiful
Sixth Aniversary Edition
by Warner Roberts
“Beauty is as beauty does!” Did you ever hear your mother say that? Our mothers knew, didn’t they, that true beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. But beauty is so much more than outer appearance. I didn’t relate to that truism when I was young; but now, I kinda get what she was talking about.

Author, Warner Roberts
There is something amazing about someone who is willing to give back to others in order to make a better community for us all. That must be the contributing factor to the “inner glow” or “a face that shines with a light from within” that we hear and read about. It’s BEAUTY in its infinite form: a little difficult to define, but easy to spot when you see it.
H Texas magazine is once again proud to present 25 Beautiful Houstonians.
Ask one hundred people on the street the question, “What is Beauty?” and you’ll likely get one hundred different answers. Throughout history, literary interpretations include those by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us, or we find it not,” and John Keats: “A thing of beauty is a joy forever: Its loveliness increases; it will never pass into oblivion.”
Our 25 Beautiful Houstonians reflect the famed Kahlil Gibran quote: “Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”
