Houstonians have known Pappas’ brand of barbecue since 1967, even if under a different name (Brisket House). Large portions are accented with unusual side dishes like spicy rice and yams. For the potato-lover, the spuds are about the size of a football; bring one home and feed the entire family. Some locations open early to serve breakfast plates and tacos.
